About

I am a student, researcher, and Emergency Preparedness professional. I have a multitude of unique threads of interest that I have begun weaving into a tapestry of my career that is found within the national and global health security space, an intersection of the multidisciplinary perspectives that I have pursued both educationally and in my extra-curricular opportunities.

My passion lies in improving WMD preparedness, prevention, and response through a multidisciplinary approach of traditional intelligence analysis, technical expertise, and governance. My goals lie in addressing emerging threats and risk-based vulnerabilities through collaboration and integration with a multitude of stakeholders to maintain safety and security.

I have a Master of Science in Biohazardous Threat Agents and Emerging Infectious Diseases and an Executive Master of Professional Studies in Emergency and Disaster Management from Georgetown University among other graduate and professional degrees.

I have worked in various first responder and healthcare roles within my community for a decade, receiving recognition as the National EMT of the Year by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians in 2017. I have extensive experience rapidly assessing and responding to emergency and crisis situations, coordinating emergency preparedness procedures, and supporting administrative efforts. In my current Emergency Management Specialist role I support clients with Emergency Management needs including planning, training, and exercises.

My research critically examines health security, biological threats, emergency preparedness, law, and medicine. I served as an inaugural Elizabeth R. Griffin Program Biosafety and Biosecurity Fellow at the Center for Global Health Science and Security researching protections for healthcare workers during novel disease outbreaks. I have served as a Research Associate with CGHSS, Kings College London - Centre for Science & Security Studies - Department of War Studies, and York University. I have conducted legal research as a Global Health Initiative fellow at GULC, as a fellow at the Center for Law, Inequality and Metropolitan Equity – Rutgers Law School, and as a Law Fellow at the Center for Security, Race and Rights – Rutgers Law School. I have also conducted research with New Jersey Medical School in the Neurosurgery Department and Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences in New Brunswick within the West Lab.

All of my work has involved building teams, working in difficult environments, managing crisis, and getting results. My passion remains making the world a safer and healthier place.
